Description
The German group Knauf Insulation has announced the establishment of a plant of rockwool production, an insulating material, in Illange (Moselle). It represents an investment of €110 million. The site will open in fall 2019 and is expected to generate 120 direct jobs and 300 indirect jobs. Recruitment has already begun. Training is offered to future employees.
The site was in competition with another site in Luxembourg but the mayor of the Luxembourg site has refused the implementation for environmental reasons. Knauf Group is specialised in building materials and systems. It has 220 factories and production sites in 80 countries. It employs over 27,400 people and has annual sales of more than 6.5 billion euros.
