Description
The Danish grocery chain Fakta, one of the four supermarket chains within the Coop Group, announced on the 19th April that 47 shops will be closed by the end of May. Fakta is one of the four supermarket chains within the Coop Group and before its closure Fakta consisted of 400 shops all over Denmark. All of the 900 employees, of which 400 are under 18 years of age, will be made redundant once the closure will be carried out. Coop will offer those jobs in other shops where possible. The main reason for the restructuring is a deficit of DKK 18 million (EUR 2.4 million) despite a financial improvement over the last year. The Coop Group employed 40,290 employees among 1,174 shops in 2016.
