Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Swedish heating technology company Nibe-Biawar, a subsidiary of Nibe group, has announced that it will increase its employment by 14%, which implies that 50 new jobs will be created at the production unit in Białystok. Nibe-Biawar is looking for fitters and welders. The company has also revealed that it will invest about PLN 25 million (EUR 6 million) in the construction of a new factory, R&D centre and office in Białystok. The first stage of the investment is expected to be finished in the first quarter of 2019 and will bring about 60-70 jobs.
Nibe group is a supplier of heating technology, including heat pumps, boilers, and ventilation systems. Biawar was founded as a state-owned company in 1968 before being acquired by Nibe in 2000. Currently, the company employs about 350 people in Białystok.
