The German bakery Unser Heimatbäcker will relocate all of its cake production to Neubrandenburg, which will result in the loss of 220 jobs at various existing production sites. This includes the closure of the production site in Gägelow with 130 employees as of June 2018. Additionally, 50 employees will be let go at the production site in Pasewalk. According to the CEO, more efficient structures are necessary to continue the company’s growth.
The company has entered negotiations with the Federal Labour Office regarding a transfer company.
Currently, Unser Heimatbäcker has approximately 2,900 employees in Germany.
