Swinton Insurance has announced 268 job cuts as part of plans to close 40 branches. The business has confirmed that the job cuts are being made in response to greater levels of transactions being performed online. The cuts will mean that Swinton will have 59 branches remaining. Jobs which are set to be lost include district managers, customer service managers and customer service assistants. Swinton has yet to confirm which branches will close. The decision is being reported as a surprise, given the business cut 900 jobs during 2017.
