Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
IT company Altran has announced the recruitment of 3,000 employees in France in 2018. Altran group employs about 33,000 people worldwide and has over 9,000 in France. The job positions are for consultants who will provide services to Altran clients in the various engineering fields the company is engaged in: automotive, aerospatial, energy, wellbeing and telecoms.
In 2017, Altran took over a site of Alcatel-Lucent in 2017 (see Factsheet). In 2013, the group had announced a restructuring of its workforce in Toulouse (see Factsheet). In 2011, the recruitment of an additional 400 employees was reported in the media (see Factsheet).
