Description

On 1 February 2018, Polish new national security service Służba Ochrony Państwa (SOP, State Protection Service) replaced Biuro Ochrony Rządu (BOR, Government Protection Bureau). The new service has employed all 2,200 BOR officers and plans to create about 800 new officer positions. The recruitment process has just been started. According to the bill, the service has more powers and duties to make security activities more effective. The service is also expected to replace the private security companies which currently protect some government administration buildings.
