Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Manufacturer of circuit boards, AT&S, with headquarters in Leoben (Austria) is expanding its production site in Fehring (Styria), thereby creating 70 new jobs. The company will invest €10 million in a new 1,200 m2 production building which will be completed and in full operation by the end of March 2019. Here, high frequency circuit boards will be produced for the automotive industry (e.g. for distance measuring for autonomous driving). Additionally, AT&S is planning to develop its products for application in the aviation industry and medical technology.
Worldwide the company employs more than 9,500 people.
