European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The rum manufacturer Bacardi will close its site in Buxtehude within the next few months, resulting in the loss of 103 jobs. According to Bacardi, the closure is required to stay competitive in the market. The site in Buxtehude is Bacardi's only production site in Germany. The Bacardi sales team in Hamburg will not be affected.
Further information regarding the exact timeframe of the job reductions and a social plan have yet to be announced.
