Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Domestic appliance sales company Domestic and General has announced that it plans to create 150 new jobs at its call centre in Nottingham. The company specialises in providing warranties for major white goods and electronics brands. The announcement of the new jobs follows a GBP 3.4 million refit to its existing premises in the city. The company currently employs 850 staff in Nottingham which is its largest UK site. Various positions will be made available including customer service and managerial roles. Recruitment is due to start at the beginning of 2018.
