Description
Logistics company Bidvest is reported to be closing its site in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire. The closure will result in the loss of 200 jobs. The decision follows the loss of a major contract from February 2018. Indications are that the proposed changes will follow the end of this contract. According to reports the company has already started bringing in agency workers on short-term deals at higher rates of pay and some workers have resigned, only to be engaged again on agency terms. Bidvest has confirmed that it will be starting the statutory consultation process.
