Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
US owned technology firm Cayan has announced plans to create 170 new jobs in Northern Ireland. The new positions will be for customer service advisers and will be based in Belfast. Recruitment for the new jobs is already underway with 100 of the positions already filled. The business, which opened its site in Northern Ireland in 2013, expects to have a workforce of 240 by 2019. The new jobs are being supported by a GBP 680,000 grant from economic development agency Invest NI.
