Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Yazaki Bulgaria, local affiliate of Japanese multinational motor parts supplier, was registered in 2006 and is planning to create up to 200 new jobs in Dimitrovgrad (its third factory in Bulgaria) by the end of 2017 (the other two plants are at Sliven and Yambol). The new factory already employs 800 people and will be producing equipment for car manufacturer Mercedes Benz. Most of the jobs at the plant will be as production operators requiring little professional qualification as all employees receive training onsite.
Yazaki Corporation was established in 1941 and produces cable installations for many automotive companies worldwide. There are 18 Yazaki factories in Europe with more than 30,000 employees. Total employees of Yazaki Corporation worldwide number 289,300 (as of June 20, 2016), including more than 5,000 persons in Bulgaria.
