German technology giant Siemens has opened a new research and development centre in the city of Ostrava and will create 100 new jobs there. The centre focuses on the development of electric engines, generators and solutions for the Industry 4.0 initiative. The company wants to hire people mainly to engineering positions. The Ostrava Centre, which is the second largest development centre of the Siemens AG worldwide, will collaborate with Mining University - Technical University Ostrava on the development of products and production technologies, robotisation, data processing and process simulation within the Industry 4.0.
