Swedish lock manufacturer Assa Abloy is moving its R&D and production of electro-mechanic locks from Germany to its subsidiary in the Czech Republic. The Czech plant currently employs 550 people, having employed some 40 new employees previously in 2017 and is planning to employ approximately 60 more in the near future. The Czech plant will thus become Assa's global development centre, combining electronics and mechanics to produce contactless locking systems.
Assa Abloy is the global leader in door opening solutions and a market leader in most of Europe, North America, South America, China and Oceania with 47,000 employees and annual sales of SEK 71 billion.
