Description
Wakefield based manufacturer of electrical goods OE Electrics has announced plans to increase its workforce in the city by 144. The plans have been supported by a one million GBP loan from the Growing Places Fund and further support of 500,000 GBP from the Leeds City Region Local Enterprise Partnership. The funding has helped to build new premises on the Calder Park Industrial Estate. The site will host the company's head office, as well as warehousing, distribution and research and development activities. It has not been reported which parts of the business will accommodate the new jobs. The firm has commented that it expects recruitment to be from local areas. In addition to the new jobs the company is also starting an apprenticeship scheme which it hopes will create 10 training roles.
