Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Swedish building materials company Derome Byggvaror is hiring 103 new employees following its purchase of the building materials chain Bygg-Aktiv Material (Bygga). The new jobs will be above all in warehouse sales, but also in building and in transport. The company seeks employees with experience in building and in industry, as it is currently investing in ironware products. 44 new jobs will be located in Landskrona, where Derome will open a big new warehouse in 2018, as per a decision made in October 2017. Another 24 jobs will be located in Malmö, while the remaining jobs will be spread across the Blekinge, Skåne and Småland regions.
Derome's purchase of Bygga in April 2017 entailed both geographical and competence expansion for the company. In the purchase, Bygga's approximately 100 employees transferred to the service of Derome.
