Description
On 13 October 2017, the German pharmaceutical company Salutas Pharma GmbH confirmed the loss of 150 jobs at its site in Barleben due to internal restructuring. The job reduction process will take place in the first quarter of 2018. Management argues that cuts are inevitable due to a decline in sales from 10 billion pills per year to 8 billion pills per year.
Works council and management have started negotiations regarding a social plan.
As of October 2017, Salutas Pharma GmbH has 1,172 employees in Barleben.
