Description
The transport and storage group Le Calvez Transport has announced the recruitment of 100 drivers and 20 managers to better respond to an increase of activity and some planned retirements. The CEO explained that there has been an actual real recovery in activity ongoing for the last 18 months. All drivers will be recruited on permanent employment contract with a salary between €1,500 and €2,000. If needed, the company will also finance training for new employees. Despite these permanent contract offer, the CEO said the company is facing difficulties in recruiting. These positions demand actual know-how and capacities to create relationships with customers, said the CEO highlighting that, in his opinion, there is a lack of women's presence in the transport trade, and, upstream, a school system that does not provide students well enough for the type of trade skills that companies need.
