Description

Angus Council has announced plans to cut 800 jobs from across its services over the next three years. The local authority employs 5,042 staff currently, having reduced number of employees by 500 over the past six years. Given the tighter financial position in which local authorities now operate, these new plans outline further cuts. Administrative and clerical roles have been highlighted as particularly vulnerable, with increased digitalisation of services. The plan also commits the council to reduce the number of management positions, though no figures have been given for the numbers of staff cuts at each occupational level.
