Description
Enercon Service Austria, subsidiary of the German manufacturer of wind power plants Enercon, has announced to cut up to 200 jobs at its site in Neusiedl am See. According to the company, a lack of orders have made reductions necessary. So far, 78 employees have been registered with the early warnings system of the public employment service (AMS), 60 of them are blue-collar workers, 18 white collar-workers. Additionally, about 100 temporary workers are affected by Enercon's job cuts.
Negotiations on a social plan for employees have already been completed. However, trade unions are critical of the fact that temporary workers have not been included and will not benefit from the social plan. Two companies in the region have shown interest in hiring some of the redundant employees.
