Description
Boiler manufacturer Ferroli announced 486 dismissals out of 970 employees at the sites in San Bonifacio (Verona), Alano di Piave (Belluno) and Siena. The site close to Belluno is set to close.
The decision comes after a long period of crisis and the expiry of temporary layoff schemes in October 2017.
Unions are issuing strikes and deem that the management has failed to deploy adequate measures to relaunch the company.
Following the announcement, the collective dismissal procedure has started, with negotiations aimed at possibly reducing the exits.
