Description
Lawrence Automotive, which manufactures interiors for the automotive industry, has announced plans to close its site in Coventry with the loss of around 500 jobs. The company currently supplies Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), though this contract is due to come to an end and there is no prospect for the current contract to be renewed. In the absence of work from JLR or any other suitable clients, Lawrence Automotive will not be able to continue. A formal consultation process is now underway, though it has already been announced that the site is expected to close in November 2017.
