Description
Dutch beverage supplier Refresco announced on 31 August 2017 it will close its site in Hamburg with 100 employees and relocate the production to Calvörde by May 2018. Qualified employees will be offered a job in Calvörde. However, the head of the Trade Union of Food, Beverages, Tobacco, Hotel and Catering and Allied Workers (NGG) noted that most of the employees are older than 50 years and will probably not consider relocating.
Refresco will start negotiations with the works council regarding a social plan.
