The Danish energy group Dong Energy has signed an agreement to divest its oil and gas business to Ineos Group, the UK petrochemicals company. This was announced by Ineos in a press release on 24 May 2017. Through the closure of Dong Energy Oil & Gas, 440 employees working for Dong will be transferred to Ineos, but between 115 and 135 employees will be made redundant in Denmark. In the future, Dong Energy will focus more on its key windmill activities.
