Description

The Swedish coaching, training and matching company AlphaCE is initiating employer-employee negotiations to reduce staff by up to 340 employees. The redundancies are a consequence of AlphaCE losing a major bid. AlphaCE has held the contract for 'Basic modules' ('Grundläggande moduler') services of the Swedish public employment service agency Arbetsförmedlingen for nearly four years. As the contract expires in early February 2018, Arbetsförmedlingen has decided to terminate 'Basic modules' and replace it with a new service. The winning bid offered the new services at a significantly lower price than AlphaCE, while AlphaCE says it did not want to lower its price at the cost of salaries and working conditions. The company hopes to be able to develop its activities and to win new contracts so as to avoid or reduce the number of dismissals.
