Description
Southern Salads, based in Tonbridge, Kent, has entered administration and 260 jobs have been lost with immediate effect. The company, which supplied prepared salads to supermarkets and restaurants, attributed its trading problems to the low value of the pound resulting from the decision to leave the EU. The business was reliant on importing fresh fruit and vegetables from the EU market. Administrators appointed to the 31 year old business had attempted to put together a rescue package, though ultimately this was not successful.
