Description
Road Haulage company Searon Logistics has confirmed that it is to cease trading and that over 100 jobs will be lost with immediate effect. The company had initially stopped trading in July 2017, while administrators were appointed in early August. With no prospect of a sale of the business or the company being able to secure further investments, the decision has been taken to close the business. The company is headquartered in the port town of Felixstowe with depots in a number of other locations including Doncaster, Southampton and Peterborough. The downturn in business has been attributed to changes to the shipping market, with companies moving away from Felixstowe in preference for other UK ports.
