European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
On 28 August 2017, the airline Eurowings, part of the Lufthansa Group, announced it will create 600 new jobs. Eurowings will recruit 200 new pilots and 400 flight attendants which will operate 20 aircraft. There is no indication on where these aircraft will come from, but insiders suggest that 33 aircraft currently operated by Air Berlin will be involved.
Furthermore, Eurowings announced to offer all of its 260 flight attendants who are currently on fixed-term contracts, new permanent contracts. As of August 2017, Eurowings employs 1,500 flight attendants.
UPDATE 25 September 2017:
On 25 September 2017, Eurowings announced it will create 400 additional jobs. This includes 200 new crew members and 200 new members for ground personnel. In total, Eurowings will create 1,000 new jobs to prepare for the take-over of aircraft from Air Berlin.
