Description

On 9 August 2017, Facebook announced plans to open a new centre in Essen with 500 employees. The centre will be dedicated to deleting hate speech, which are liable to prosecution. This second centre is a result of the new Network Enforcement Act, which legally requires web-based platforms to delete hate speech much faster. The new centre will be operated by Competence Call Centre.

Facebook wants to increase the number of employees checking and deleting content from 4,500 to 7,500 worldwide.
