Description

Delphi Diesel Systems, an engineering company based in Sudbury, Suffolk, has announced that it is to wind down its operations towards an eventual closure sometime in 2020, resulting in a loss of 520 jobs. The US owned business which manufactures fuel injectors and filters for commercial diesel vehicles will move its production to Romania in order to minimise labour costs. It is being reported that the first 50 jobs will be cut before Christmas 2017. Union representatives have condemned the decision, pointing to the fact that the site still produces healthy profits.
