Multinational producer of pulp, paper and paper products, Mondi SCP will create 105 new jobs in Ruzomberok in 2017. The company will expand the production of corrugated paper with an investment of €310 million, which includes installing a new paper mill on the existing premises. The government supported the new investment with €49 million in state aid. The investment was approved by the European Commission and complies with EU rules and regulations. According to the Head of Press and Political Section of the Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia, the Commission took into account the importance of investing in employment in a less developed region of Slovakia.
As of July 2017, the Mondi Group employs more than 24.000 people in 30 countries across the world. Approximately 1.200 people are employed with Mondi SCP in Slovakia.
