Description

Transnational IT company Comdata announced 120 new jobs.

The decision was taken in the frame of negotiations concerning the transfer of undertaking of the call center of the telecommunications company Wind Tre to Comdata, with the consequent handover of 680 Wind Tre employees.

During negotiations, public authorities and unions obtained the hiring back on a part-time basis of 120 former Almaviva call centre operators, dismissed last December in Rome (see AlmavivaIT-2016). Sources do not report whether the new staff will be employed in Rome or if it will be moved to other Comdata sites in Italy.

At the same time, unions complained about the worsening of the working climate at the site of Turin, alleging pressure from the management to induce resignation of workers. These workers are entitled by far to better protection against unfair dismissal than their new colleagues, to be hired in compliance with the dismissal regime introduced in 2015 by the Jobs Act.
