Description

Sandwich maker Adelie Foods has announced that it is to close its site in Middlesbrough as it concentrates its production at its other four UK locations. The move will result in the loss of 180 jobs on Teesside. The company said that investments at its sites have resulted in higher levels of capacity and, as a result, it is no longer necessary to keep the Middlesbrough factory open. The decision will bring to a close 25 years of the business operating in the town. A statutory 45 day consultation period will take place, though it is already being reported that the final closure will take place sometime in September 2017.
