Description
Insurance company ReAssure has announced plans to close its offices in Fylde, near Blackpool. The site employs 200 workers and it is expected that all will be made redundant; opportunities for redeployment within the group are likely to be limited. A spokesperson for the Unite union and the local member of Parliament both urged the company to reconsider and stressed the importance of the jobs for the local economy. The first cuts are expected to begin in September 2017 and the site is expected to close sometime in early 2018.
