The Finnish dairy products manufacturer Valio is launching a new snack factory in Riihimäki. The factory will employ 70 people in its initial phase, in addition to the 370 people employed at the old Valio factory in Riihimäki. Construction work of the new factory was initiated three years ago and commercial production is expected to start in the autumn of 2017. Production is estimated to amount to 120 million kilogrammes annually, of which one third is destined for export. If sales increase sufficiently, more staff will be hired as there are significant opportunities for expansion of the factory.
