Description

Sofama, a company manufacturing luxury leather goods for customers in the luxury industry as Louis Vuitton, has announced the recruitment of 140 employees in 2017 and 130 in 2018. The group has almost 600 employees and five production sites in France. 150 of 270 the new jobs are located in its site of Yssingeaux (Les Ateliers du Meygal)  where 180 employees are already working. This site was formally a plant of the  underwear apparel manufacturer Lejaby that was liquidated in 2011 (see ERM Factsheet). The new owner, Sofama, took over all the employees and trained them to be employed in leather goods manufacturing. Sofama will also create  a luxury leather craft school in Yssingeaux.

Updated 24-12-2017:Sofama has announced the recruitment of 160 employees in its three sites at Feurs (Loire), Yssingeaux (Haute-Loire) and Vichy (Allier) by 2018. The total of the recruitment announced in June 2017 for 2018 is therefore higher of 30 positions (160 instead of 130). Sofama will hire 70 people in Feurs, 50 in Yssingeaux and 40 in Vichy.  The group works mainly for the luxury band Louis Vuitton. The total number of recruitment is 300 for the period 2017-2018 instead of 270 has announced in June 2017.
