Textile firm Abbigliamento Grosseto is to dismissed all its 178 employees.
The decision was disclosed by the liquidator of the company, who eventually declared the company bankrupt after two years of insolvency proceeding.
The proceeding started about three years ago, when following delays in wage payments and the stoppage of production, workers filed a request to the Tribunal.
Top managers and the owner of Abbigliamento Grosseto are currently under inquiry for fraudulent bankruptcy.
Workers, who are women for the vast majority, will receive an unemployment allowance.
