Description

Polish producer of mining machinery and equipment Kopex Machinery, a subsidiary of Kopex group, has announced that it will cut 218  jobs via collective dismissal programme at its two units located in Zabrze (186 jobs) and Rybnik (32 jobs). The conditions of the programme were negotiated with the local trade unions, e.g. redundant workers will receive a severance pay. The programme will be implemented from 30th May to 31st August 2017.

Last year Kopex Machinery implemented two dismissal programme: a programme announced in April 2016 affected 305 jobs, and a programme announced in September 2016 affected 250 jobs.

Kopex Machinery was formed in 2012 by an alliance of three companies comprising the Kopex capital group: Zabrzańskie Zakłady Mechaniczne in Zabrze, Wamag in Wałbrzych, Ryfama in Rybnik. The company is specialised in manufacturing of mining machinery. Currently, the units in Zabrze and Rybnik employ 630 people.
