Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Western Union, a company operating in international money transfer services, is expanding its activities in Lithuania and will create around 100 new jobs in the global operations centre in Vilnius by the end of 2017. Currently the global operations centre in Vilnius employs around 1,700 employees. According to the management, the number of employees in Vilnius should grow by 10-15 percent and will reach around 1,800 by the end of 2017. On 2 May 2017, Western Union opened a new customer experience centre in Vilnius which has the potential to accommodate 800 jobs.
