Description

German aluminium die casting manufacturer Schweizer Group headquartered in Hattenhofen announced to cut 100 jobs within the next three years.

Mostly affected will be the production of small aluminium parts for cars due to the high production costs in Germany and most of the job cuts will affect unskilled workers. The company however seeks to implement the job cuts mainly through partial retirement. The figure of affected jobs has already been reduced from 120 to 100. The German Metalworkers' Union had organised a demonstration against the job cuts.

Schweizer Group currently employs 805 staff across four sites in Germany and further 243 abroad in the Czech Republic, Turkey and China.
