Description

Durubor, a Belgian manufacturer of glass products established in Zinnik, has announced its closure. In total all 200 employees will be affected and are at risk of losing their job. Walloon economics minister Jean-Claude Marcourt has previously indicated concerns with regards to the company's financial situation. Trade unions are however surprised with the sudden decision to declare bankruptcy. They see the ongoing demand to reduce prices by their biggest clients as one of the main factors that has led to the company's downfall. Trade union representatives state they have received very little information from the company management so far and many things remain unclear. A Walloon investment group (Sogepa) has announced it will continue to support the company until 30th of June this year.
