Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Husqvarna Group is expanding in Husqvarna hiring an additional 100 new employees in its new Edge Factory. 50 of the new employees will be hired in the production management and development unit. The Edge Factory is, among other things, producing chains for Husqvarna chainsaws. Chains were previously bought from sub-contractors. In addition to the production of chains and bars for chainsaws, the expansion is due to increased demand on hand held battery operated tools and robotic lawn mowers.
Before the last announced expansion, a few hundred employees were recruited in the factory during 2016. Production in the factory is primarily carried out by robots, reason why the new jobs are skill-intense and demand knowledge of automation processes.
Husqvarna Group has approximately 14,000 employees in total.
