Description

Star Transmission, Romanian subsidiary of German automobile manufacturer Daimler, opened a new production unit in Cugir, where 200 new jobs will be created by the end of 2017.

The new production unit was opened following a 36 million euro investment. Four different models of planetary gear box will be produced at the Cugir plant.

Star Transmission was established in 2001 by a German-Romanian joint venture. Besides Star Transmission, Daimler has another subsidiary - Star Assembly - in Sebes (Alba County).
