European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Textile manufacturer Miroglio Textile is to cut 61 out of 260 jobs at the Govone plant. Investments in labour-saving technologies have been recently made in the plant, where textile printing activities take place.
The company has already made recourse to social shock absorbers due to a persistent drop in sales in the textile market registered over the last years. On 3 March, in the frame of negotiations for the renewal of short-time work schemes, the management reached an agreement with unions entailing early retirements and relocation for up to 61 employees.
Rumours on job cuts already spread in late 2016, when the company arranged outplacement services for its staff, with a view to tackling 'possible forthcoming dismissals'.
