Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
German online fashion retailer Zalando has announced that it will create 1,000 jobs at its new distribution centre in Gryfino near Szczecin. The centre is expected to be operational in September 2017, but the recruitment process will start in March 2017. The company will provide special training for hired employees. The restructuring programme is associated with the company’s plan to develop its sale platform in Poland. The centre, which will supply articles to clients in Germany, Poland and Scandinavia, is worth EUR 150 million.
Zalando was created 2008. Currently, the company operates in 15 European countries.
