Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Slovak company Technov, a producer of components for air conditioning and ventilation equipment, will create 350 new jobs in the Rumanova village near Nitra. The company is investing €22 million in the new factory, which will include a painting unit, development centre and office buildings. Technov currently has nearly 130 employees in Rumanova. The construction of the new factory already commenced in 2016 and it should be completed in September 2017. The activities in the current facilities located in the centre of Rumanova will gradually be relocated to the new factory. The development centre will be added in 2023. According to a representative of the company, wages in Technov could be even higher than in the nearby, newly built Jaguar Land Rover factory.
