Description
Infrabel, the company that maintains Belgian railway infrastructure, has announced a significant reduction in their staff by 2020. The main reason for the restructuring is the fusion of two subsidiaries, Tuc Rail and Ixilio. In total 2200 employees less will be active at the company by 2018 and approximately 4000 by 2020. This will mean an overall reduction in staff of 27%. There will be no compulsory redundancies, according to management. The reductions will be carried out through voluntary departures or the non-replacement of retiring employees.
