Description

The French Secretary of State for Budget, Christian Eckert, announced the creation of 500 customs posts in 2017 in addition to the 735 positions already planned throughout 2017. The 500 customs officers will be deployed in 2017 as part of a plan to strengthen border control and counter-terrorism. In the days following the attacks of 13 November 2015, Francois Hollande announced a vast plan to strengthen the police, intelligence and customs personnel as well as their material means to face the jihadist threat. For customs services, this translated into 500 additional customs officers in 2016. "Five hundred other agents will be deployed during 2017, to which we must add the recruitment already envisaged in the various competitions of 735 agents," says Christian Eckert.
