Furniture retailer IKEA has announced that it is to create 100 further jobs at is new site in Sheffield. The store is expected to open by the end of Summer 2017 and the company had already announced that it would create 380 jobs. A spokesperson for the retailer commented that it was expected that the majority of these jobs would go to local people. The store has hosted open days and has received substantial interest in the new positions, something which it attributes to paying a living wage of GBP 8.45 (€9.95) per hour and the promise of permanent contracts.
